Background Information


The goal of the Working Groups is to promote direct contact between vegetable and legume virus research workers throughout the world.


This goal is pursued through:

  • Distribution of information among group members through exchange of an Annual Report and, more recently, through a discussion group based on E-mail.

  • Exchange of reprints, antisera and seeds of virus indicator plants.

  • Organization of international meetings open to non-members.

Call for Abstracts

Oral and poster abstracts will be accepted online via this web site. Abstracts are limited to one page, including title, references and by-lines. All abstracts must be submitted in English.

Field Trip

We will spend the morning at the University of Florida/IFAS Tropical Research and Education Center (TREC) and have lunch. In the afternoon, we will go to Fairchilds Botanical Gardens and spend 2 hours touring the gardens.

Participant registration fee includes: Abstract book and conference materials, Sunday Welcome Reception, continental breakfast each morning, morning and afternoon refreshment breaks, Monday and Tuesday lunch, Wednesday boxed lunch with bus tour.

Spouse registration fee includes:  Sunday Welcome Reception and Wednesday bus tour with lunch.

Early Participant Registration Fee $225 (on or before February 11, 2005)
Regular Participant Registration Fee $275 (after February 11, 2005)
Spouse Registration Fee $65
