Overview
 The objective of this workshop series is to provide applied training to teachers, students and environmental professionals in geospatial technology (global positioning systems (GPS), geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing) for a variety of environmental/scientific disciplines.
In many of the scientific and environmental industries that require field work, the applied use of geospatial technologies has become an important and valued skill. The planning and development of line transects and water quality sampling stations, along with the collection of GPS data gathering for a variety of environmental monitoring, compliance, surveying, and other scientific disciplines, has become a critical project management component. The workshop series includes hands on GIS/GPS training and an actual applied field project in Costa Rica. workshops can be taken as a series or individually.
