2014 Summit Synopsis

America’s Watershed Initiative (AWI) is a collaboration that seeks solutions for meeting the multiple demands placed on the vast and complex Mississippi watershed system by integrating issues, partners and ideas at the full watershed scale. AWI seeks to build and implement a vision based on collaboration and mutually beneficial outcomes in contrast to single purpose advocacy.

The 2014 America’s Watershed Initiative Summit brought together 135 key private, public, and non-profit sector stakeholders to improve governance of the Mississippi Watershed. The summit provided a dynamic forum for discussion and updates on key projects such as the America’s Watershed Report Card, State of the Basin Report, and the development of a shared agenda for change, which was presented and discussed.

We invite you to join us for the next AWI Summit to share your information and engage with different geographies and sectors in supporting a common vision for watershed health and advocacy for collaborative improvements. Keep a look out for a Save the Date email so you can make plans to be a part of the conversation and help shape the future of one of our nation’s most valuable resources.
