 Who Should Attend? -- You Will Benefit by Attending this Program If You:

  • Need CEUs for Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee licenses. (Approved for up to 20 CEUs.)

  • Need Pesticide Applicator CEUs for categories such as:
    - Aquatic
    - Right-of-Way
    - General Standards (CORE)
    - Aerial
    - Ornamental and Turf

  • Are responsible for aquatic weed control in canals, lakes, golf course ponds, rivers, parks, residential developments and other waterways.

  • Operate and calibrate herbicide and pesticide application equipment.

  • Are employed by a public agency or private company which is responsible for vegetation management along right-of-ways and in natural areas.

  • Are an employee of a basic manufacturer or a distributor that markets aquatic or vegetation management herbicides.

  • Use biological control techniques to suppress aquatic weed growth.

  • Need to identify aquatic and wetland plants.

  • Culture Aquatic Plants.

  • Establish and maintain wetland mitigation areas.

Specialized Training Sessions

The short course is designed to benefit those new to the industry and experienced professionals seeking a comprehensive update. Topics include:

  • General Standards (CORE) Training Session - Pesticide label interpretation, personal protection equipment, pesticide safety, pesticide handling and container disposal techniques.

  • Pesticide Application Equipment Calibration Training Session - Calculation formulas, area measurements and equipment calibration calculations. Practice critical steps for proper equipment calibration. (You may want to bring a calculator.)

  • Plant Identification - Material providing identification characteristics of aquatic and terrestrial weeds and economically important aquatic plants and potential control techniques.

  • Aquatic Pest Control Category Training Session - Aquatic weed management techniques, aquatic plant biology and environmental topics.

  • Natural Areas Weed Management Training Session- Learn techniques to manage invasive weeds, both native and non-native, in natural areas such as parks, wildlife and ecological management areas, and terrestrial areas needing weed management.
